Her main interests are in the psychiatric and psychological transition from childhood to adulthood for those with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism (ASD) and ADHD. Neurodevelopmental disorders being a group of disorders which affect the development of the nervous system that may affect emotion, learning ability, self-control and memory.

 

Dr Spada also collaborates in a multi-disciplinary setting to deliver either the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (2nd edition) (ADOS-2) or the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), for detailed diagnoses of Autism where required.

 

Dr Spada’s General Medical Council (GMC) registration is 7612946 and she is an Affiliate Specialist of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych).

Dr Spada is a medical doctor who believes that the best long-term outcomes for children and young adults is achieved through early diagnosis and intervention, alongside regular clinical monitoring and psychotherapy.

 

In addition to her work helping children in our clinics, she is also a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in the prestigious South London & Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust as well as being a Research Associate at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. Though Dr Spada treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions, she has undergone further specialist diagnostic training in assessing patients with Autism (ASD) and Attention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorder (ADHD).

 

Dr Spada has over 10 years of clinical and academic experience in a variety of psychiatric outpatient and inpatient settings, having specialised as a Child & Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist in 2012 and having completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (University of Pavia, Italy) with her research on the early identification and treatment of children at risk of mental illness. Dr Spada graduated in Medicine & Surgery with Honours at the University of Pavia, Italy.
