Her main interests are in the psychiatric and psychological transition from childhood to adulthood for those with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorder (ADHD). Neurodevelopmental disorders being a group of disorders which affect the development of the nervous system that may affect emotion, learning ability, self-control and memory.
Dr Spada’s General Medical Council (GMC) registration is 7612946 and her Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) registration (Affiliate Specialist) is 3015060.
Dr Spada is a medical doctor who believes that the best long-term outcomes for children and young adults is achieved through early diagnosis and intervention, alongside regular clinical monitoring and psychotherapy.
In addition to being an Associate at our clinic, she is also a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist in the prestigious South London & Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust as well as being a Research Associate at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. Though Dr Spada treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions, she has undergone further specialist diagnostic training in assessing patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorder (ADHD).
Dr Spada has over 10 years of clinical and academic experience in a variety of psychiatric outpatient and inpatient settings, having specialised as a Child & Adolescent Neuropsychiatrist in 2012 and having completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (University of Pavia, Italy) with her research on the early identification and treatment of children at risk of mental illness. Dr Spada graduated in Medicine & Surgery with Honours at the University of Pavia, Italy.
